What I love about social justice white people

sage-kun:

juxtapiration:

is every time my friend gets stop to be told off by some white person, very rudely, how his tattoo of a dreamcatcher is racist and insensitive to the Native American people and should removed/apologize/be ashamed.

He is Native American and they confuse him for Mexican every time, and he just states “But I got this at the reservation I lived in for 15 YEARS.” and proceeds to falsely place a curse of his ancestors on them.

Congrats, we have reached a period of time where there is a generation that does not remember the first memes.

How the hell do I get my hands on this giant for my students?

It’s called Open Dyslexic, and it’s available for free. I’ve used it for my students with dyslexia, and they say it really does help a lot. When I can, I try to make handouts, notes, and especially quizzes in the font for them. I’ve even sent it to them with instructions for how they can use it to type papers in it in Word.

A decent alternative to comic sans!

I remember all the Doctor Who fanfics I used to read where Rose often got badly stereotyped as a damsel in distress whom the Doctor had to swoop in and save and smooch but the way I remember Doctor Who 90% of their relationship was the Doctor just setting Rose loose on people who had done something to offend them and sitting back giggling in the corner as she shouted
